Paper Seed Pots or Origami Box Craft
This is so cool. I have been wanting a wooden paperpot maker, but
never could bring myself to shell out the dough for it (and shipping).
So, after re-using my now ragged, thin plastic pots I was looking on
the internet to see if I could get one cheaper. (and yes, I am that
cheap!). Couldn't find any, but found a couple sites to make them
otherwise. This is an origami box that I thought kids might like as a
craft. It's a cute hairpin tray if made from nice paper. I folded a
few at the desk and I am going to try it for seedlings with newspaper.
I liked that it has a defined bottom, but can still go whole in the
ground to bio-degrade. Very green minded! I like them short so the paper gets covered up by earth. I don't like to see it in my garden while it's breaking down. I think I'll poke a hole in the bottoms if they are still intact when I drop them in. I can't ait to try the ones I made! The pics show colored
paper, but for seeds, newsprint should be black ink only. You can use junkmail letters also, but be wary of showing your address if it's on the junkmail. Just had to
share this:

If we had a router I'd try to make the wood seedpot maker. Here's Burpees:
